I have a short piece of holiday fiction in today's Coast. Thought I'd share it and wish all happy holidays. Click the image below to read the story.
May we have peace, love, joy, justice, sustainability, creativity and healthy communities in 2011.

This proves you're Canadian Chris.

Em seems to be carried along by the African tide, sadly riding a wave from which she seems curiously detached. Must be the memory of the person who fell off it.
As is my vice, I continually search for context. What grief was Em running from? And doesn't she like rice and tomatoes?
Happy holidays, friend.
Happy holidays, friend.
...Sorry Chris,
My browser is soggy, and hard to actigvate after New Year's...I am soggy and hard to activate...I cant pick up the text of your short story. Will try again, and,
Happy New Year.

TWM: Not sure how Canadian it makes me, but it makes me me.
Toast: That's culture shock in a nutshell. But yes, grief makes it worse.
X: I think the circumstance are there, though not greatly extrapolated on; it's the death of her uncle that is driving her whole family far from home on a painful anniversary. Not sure how she feels about rice and tomatoes, but it's probably not in line with her traditional fare.
SantaCat: Thank you! Hope you had a great holidays. Happy 2011!
Ivan: hope you got your computer issues resolved. Happy 2011!
