This reminds me of something written by Desmond Norris many years ago, about how infants' faces psychologically compel us towards protecting the child from not only external threats, but also ourselves.

Cool, that Norris study. This was based on sitting in adoptions classes and there were certain words and phrases that kept coming up. Evidence was a big one, understandably.
